Precautionary Measures: State of Emergency
The Town of The Pas has declared a State of Local Emergency to ensure we are prepared to act if conditions change.
As of May 9th, there are no immediate threats to the Town of The Pas. Conditions in the surrounding areas continue to change and are being closely monitored.
For information, this measure supports such things as:
· Activate and enforce emergency response strategies geared to the specific situation.
· Permit or require qualified persons to provide aid/services essential to the emergency response.
· Regulate or restrict travel to, from, or within the affected area to ensure public safety.
· Mandate the evacuation of people and animals from dangerous zones and arrange for their care and protection.
· Access private property, if necessary, to carry out emergency measures.
· Shut down businesses or public places that may pose a risk during the emergency.
· Acquire necessary supplies and services to manage the emergency effectively.
We continue to work closely with MB Wildfire, RCMP, and local fire crews.
If you have any questions, please contact the Town of The Pas office at 204-627-1100 or 204-623-2330 after hours.
